Riding School for Preschool Children

Riding School for Preschool Children

The riding school for preschool children at the Pegasos Center is designed as a combination of play, learning, and a safe first interaction with horses.

The program is organized through regular visits, allowing children to gradually become familiar with horses, build confidence, and develop a sense of trust. Each lesson is adapted to the children’s age and takes place in a safe and controlled environment.

Lessons include:

  • introduction to horses and basic safety rules
  • preparing the horse (grooming, interaction, building connection)
  • riding with the assistance of an instructor and horse leader
  • basic balance, coordination, and movement exercises

For the youngest riders (ages 2.5 to 10), we use carefully selected, calm, and experienced horses. Each child is supported by an instructor and a horse leader, and when needed, additional assistants (“sidewalkers”) walk alongside the horse to ensure maximum safety.

Riding at this age offers many benefits:

  • improves balance, coordination, and motor skills
  • builds confidence and a sense of security
  • encourages focus and patience
  • develops empathy and connection with animals and nature
  • provides active outdoor time

For kindergartens and schools, this program offers a valuable and unique activity that goes beyond traditional classroom experiences. Through regular participation, children not only learn the basics of riding, but also develop a deeper connection with horses and gain knowledge through experience.

The program is flexible and can be adapted to the needs of each group, number of children, and schedule.
